Isaac Arazi, former head of the small Lebanese Jewish community and a driving force in the renovation of the Magen Avraham synagogue in Central Beirut, died yesterday (Tuesday), according to Lebanese news portal Naharnet.
The synagogue was renovated thanks to money raised by Arazi and thanks to financing provided by others such as the Solidere SAL civil engineering company owned by the politically powerful Hariri family.
