According to a report by Nitzhiyah Yaakov of Ynet, a delegation of families of hostages taken by Hamas on October 7 took off today for New York to participate in prayer vigils and efforts to meet with Congressmen to try and free their loved ones from captivity.

The delegation was organized by Chabad youth and is led by Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Aharonov, who will also lead the mass prayer vigil.

According to Rabbi Aharonov, "We cannot return the hostages home and to their families, but we can do everything in our power to use the spiritual tools at the disposal of every Jew as such: prayer, faith, and trust.”

He explained the initiative to bring the families to the US: “Two weeks ago, a meeting too place between Chabad shluchim with the families of the hostages and there one of the mothers whose daughter was kidnapped said that ‘when there is a problem, we know who the address is.’ We simply answered the call and lifted the gauntlet in our ways.”

As already noted, in addition to the mass prayer, the families will attend a rally in DC and meet with senior Congressional representatives to try and free their loved ones.
