Now why'd she have to go and do that?

And Just Like That: Cynthia Nixon's Pro-Palestinian shirt speaks volumes about HBO's antisemitism

In a new promo for And Just Like That, the show’s sequel series, Nixon used her clothing to make a statement about the Gaza conflict. Are we shocked? Nope. Disappointed? Very.

Cynthia Nixon plays Miranda in And Just Like That

Cynthia Nixon, the Sex and the City star who plays Miranda Hobbes, is making waves again with her latest pro-Palestinian statement.

The promo, dropped by HBO across its official channels, shows Nixon in the black, white, and green design with a red triangle. a clear nod to the Palestinian flag. It’s the latest chapter in her activism, which kicked into high gear after the Gaza war started following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Nixon has been one of Hollywood’s loudest voices on the issue, joining protests, signing ceasefire petitions, sharing pro-Palestinian posts online, and even doing a five-day hunger strike outside the White House in November 2023 to push for Gaza aid, according to Variety.

It would be nice if movies could just keep being movies, and leave the politics out of it. But that's not the case. These puffed-up flamingoes strut about Hollywood and think that just because they're rich and famous, that gives them the right to broadcast their virulent and vile antisemitism. Spoiler: It doesn't. They think that just because glossy billboards sport their faces, they somehow matter and their opinions about the world are educated and desired. They aren't. They should stick to their Ozempic shots and stay out of politics, where they are as vicious as they are clueless about anything that really matters. It wouldn't matter but for the fact that millions of people lap up their every word as if it's golden (which obviously it isn't.)

Her move is part of a bigger trend in Hollywood, where stars are picking sides on the Middle East conflict. While Nixon joins folks like Mark Ruffalo and Bella Hadid in supporting Palestinians, others like Gal Gadot and Jerry Seinfeld have stood by Israel, especially after the 2023 attack. Nixon’s shirt has sparked some pushback on X, with a few calling for a boycott of And Just Like That, though nothing major has taken off yet.

And Just Like that, antisemitism and anti-Israel has been made so normal that no on even bats an eyelid anymore.

And Just Like That has never shied away from hot topics, often mirroring Nixon’s real-life progressive views. But this promo has cranked up the debate about how far celebrities should go in wading into such a divisive issue. HBO hasn’t said a word about the controversy, letting Nixon’s statement stand as the show gears up for its next season.

Considering the massive financial fallout which followed Snow White's Rachel Zegler's anti-Israel statements, the fact that HBO hasn't shut this down both strange and concerning. Are they using the controversy to stay relevant or do they just hate Jews?
