An active-duty IDF soldier was located last night (Wednesday) in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, by a pro-Palestinian organization that managed to cross-reference a photo he uploaded to social media with a photo he uploaded from operational service in Gaza, as reported by n12.
The organization circulated a photo of the soldier on social media along with claims that he boasted about actions he allegedly took against Palestinian civilians. Additionally, the organization contacted the authorities in Sri Lanka demanding the soldier's arrest and even filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC). Interpol was also alerted about the case.
The soldier received an urgent phone call from home, instructing him to leave immediately and return to Israel.
This shows the terrifying reality that our heroes are not even safe to go on vacation without being targeted by anti Israel hate. The lengths that many of these organizations go to puts Israeli travellers at risk and serves as a reminder of the global growth in Anti-Semitism since October 7th.
