With a ceasefire holding in Lebanon and the Hamas war winding down in intensity, airlines are beginning to return - very slowly - to Israel, leading to hopes for reduced costs. But things aren't so simple, according to Globes.
While many Israelis complain about the high cost of Israeli airlines, this price comes with the stability of knowing that the flights will continue to operate, no matter the circumstances. Meantime, many a foreign airline has cancelled flights or service entirely due to threats of rockets or missiles hitting their planes from the north or south.
According to Globes, El Al is working to help hi-tech and other Israeli entrepreneurs on flights to the United States, promising not to bump businessmen off flights despite increasingly high demand for travel.
Meantime, many foreign airlines have said they will not return to service Israel until 2025, perhaps months into that year.
