The IDF has just announced the tragic death of eight Israeli soldiers in an explosion in Rafah city, Southern Gaza. The deadliest incident in six months brings the army's death toll against Hamas to 307.

Tragedy Strikes as IDF unit ambushed in booby trapped building. Initial reports state 4 Israeli soldiers were killed and 10 more injured.  

The IDF continues to advance in Rafah in a "focused, intelligence based" manner, locating and destroying weapons caches and projectile launchers.

The tunnel contained blast doors and weapons caches and also connected to a number of other tunnels.

Gallant: "We are willing to make compromises in order to bring back hostages, but if that option is removed, we will go on and ‘deepen’ the operation."

During operations in the Rafah area, the Commando Brigade discovered a Hamas compound complete with all sorts of weapons and ammunition.

The IDF continues to operate in the southern and central Gaza Strip, eliminating terrorists, seizing weapons, and destroying terrorist infrastructure.

A month has passed since the Rafah operation began, and the government estimates that some 300 terrorists have been killed in the process, according to spokesperson David Mencer.

According to the IDF, the tunnel was found just 100 meters from the Rafah crossing and contained multiple weapons caches and a number of blast doors.

Houthi Spokesperson Yahya Sare'e claimed that these attacks were in response to "the ongoing massacre in Rafah."

According to Axios reporter Barak Ravid, Algeria has begun circulating a draft proposal calling for an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a condemnation of the Rafah fire killing dozens of civilians, blaming Israel for the deaths and calling for international intervention.

According to the Spokesperson, the strike was conducted about 180 meters from the tents that caught fire, with a very small warhead.

The IDF investigation into the connection between the IDF strike and the fire in the humanitarian zone killing dozens of Palestinians is still ongoing.

The probe will be conducted by the General Staff investigative mechanism, which is meant to investigate all "irregular" events in war.

The terrorists in question were responsible for leading and directing terrorist attacks from Judea and Samaria. The IDF is investigating the cause of fire possibly spreading from the strike to nearby civilian tents.

The war cabinet is expected to convene today to discuss new negotiations for a deal in tandem with the CIA Director, the Mossad Director, and the Qatari Prime Minister. The cabinet will also discuss further operations in Rafah.
