While the pier itself was put together at Ashdod, the IDF's engineering unit worked with COGAT to make the needed preparations on land.

The response notes the report is too reliant on problematic sources such as the Hamas-run government and ignores steps the IDF has already taken to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The move comes in an effort to provide an easy to use source of information on the humanitarian situation in Gaza from an official Israeli perspective, as opposed to others which are more critical.
