Israeli judoka Peter Paltchik advances at Paris Olympics
Paltchik, a 2023 World Championships bronze medalist and 2020 European Champion, is considered one of Israel's top medal prospects.


In a strong start for Israel at the Paris 2024 Olympics, judoka Peter Paltchik has secured his place in the round of 16 in the under 100 kg weight category.
Paltchik defeated Mongolian Gonchigsuren Batkhuyag, world rank #10, with an ippon in the first round. Next, he will face France's Aurélien Diesse who is ranked 50th globally compared to Paltchik's 8th place ranking.
Inbar Lanir, another medal hopeful for Israel and 2023 World Champion, is set to compete later in the tournament. She will face the winner of a match between Mongolia's Khuslen Otgonbayar and Ecuador's Leonsa Kahla.
Both Paltchik and Lanir seen as strong contenders for Olympic medals. Their progress through the tournament could mark a significant achievement for Israel at the Paris 2024 Games.
