Laurent Nunez, the Chief of Police of Paris, announced on Friday that Islamic terrorism is the main security worry ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics, according to Reuters.
As the Games draw near, France is on its highest security alert and is also preparing for legislative elections at the end of June, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Authorities recently foiled an attack on a sports stadium in a different French city.
"Islamist terrorism remains our main concern," Nunez addressed a press conference seven weeks ahead of the Olympic opening ceremony, set to take place on and along the River Seine on July 26.
