Trump Advisor: "Iran Wants Kamala Harris as President"

Dr. Mike Evans, a notable evangelical figure and advisor to former President Donald Trump, claims that Iran is actively working to get Kamala Harris elected as president, believing she would be detrimental to Israel.

Evans asserts that Iran might direct Hamas and Hezbollah to pause their conflict with Israel to aid Harris's electoral chances. He shared this concern in an interview with Ynet, stating, "I conveyed this to Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Mike Herzog. The Iranians will intervene in the U.S. elections to support the Democrats because they oppose Trump."

Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Heritage Centre in Jerusalem, who has longstanding connections with figures like Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, praised Netanyahu's recent speech to Congress as "brilliant" and "a masterpiece," likening it to addresses by Reagan and Churchill.

Evans criticized the current U.S. administration, noting that the weakness of President Biden and the possibility of Harris becoming president might embolden adversaries like Iran. He believes Trump would be a stronger ally for Israel, citing Trump's past actions, such as moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. Evans views Harris as a potential threat to Israel's security and support.

When asked during the interview, who is better for Israel, Trump or Harris? he answered, "Trump has been the most supportive president for Israel in my lifetime—unquestionably the best we've had. We were directly involved in advising him on Israeli matters, and he took courageous actions, like moving the embassy, despite opposition. Trump did everything possible to support Israel. In contrast, Harris may verbally express support, but her actions would not reflect this commitment. If elected, Harris would likely be a far worse president for Israel than Obama."

Regarding Israel's global role, Evans sees the nation as a crucial ally against radical Islam and an exemplar of moral clarity. He also draws parallels between political divides in Israel and those in the U.S., suggesting that ideological conflicts are impacting both countries.

Evans expressed concern about the U.S. election dynamics, including Trump's choice of running mate and the potential influence of Iran. He promised that evangelical leaders would strongly advocate for continued support for Israel if Trump wins, emphasizing that this support is vital to maintaining strong U.S.-Israel relations.
