Senior Arab affairs analyst for Channel 12 News, Ehud Yaari, addressed reports on the timing and nature of Iran's response against Israel and criticized the studio commentary: "I am fed up with the commentary from people with limited understanding who have no information," Yaari said on Channel 12 News.
Regarding the substance of the matter, Yaari stated that, in his view, Iran is unlikely to respond with heavy missile and drone attacks against Israel but will settle for a symbolic strike: "Iran has made it very clear that they do not want escalation and do not want a full-scale war. They have even gathered ambassadors and briefed them."
He continued: "They do not intend to repeat what they attempted on April 14. This time it will be something different. Surprising. Hopefully, from their perspective, it will be surprising. They are looking for a specific target, not massive fire on Tel Aviv, as that does not align with their calls against escalation."
Yaari emphasized: "They cannot afford another failure like the missile attack in April. They cannot allow that. Additionally, the Home Front Command has not changed its instructions because it does not detect any special movements in Iran or Hezbollah."
