The 2025 Zionist Election is Breaking Records
US voter turnout for 2025 World Zionist Congress Election doubles in first week
Voter turnout for the 2025 World Zionist Congress election has surged in its first week, with US participation more than doubling compared to 2020. This significant increase reflects heightened interest in shaping the future of Israel and Jewish communities globally, as over 2,900 candidates from 43 US states compete for delegate positions.

The 2025 World Zionist Congress election has seen a significant increase in voter participation from the United States, with the first week of voting surpassing previous years’ totals. According to the World Zionist Organization, between March 10 and March 16, over 53,000 votes were cast, representing a 122% increase from the 23,938 votes cast in the same period during the 2020 election. With this rapid pace, the election is expected to exceed the previous US record of 123,575 votes.
This election, held every five years, gives Jews around the world the chance to influence Israel's future, guide Zionist policy, and make decisions that affect Jewish communities globally. A total of 152 delegates will be elected from the US, which makes up about one-third of the Congress. These delegates will join representatives from other countries to determine the leadership and priorities of key Jewish institutions, including the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), the Jewish Agency for Israel, and United Israel Appeal. Their decisions will shape the allocation of over $1 billion annually to support Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.
Herbert Block, executive director of the American Zionist Movement, expressed his satisfaction with the record voter turnout, emphasizing that American Jews are sending a strong message about their commitment to Zionism and the future of Israel. The increase in voter participation also reflects the growing engagement of the Jewish community in these important decisions.
This year’s election is also witnessing a surge in candidates, with more than 2,900 individuals running from 43 US states and territories, marking a 60% increase from the 2020 election. Additionally, a record 22 groups—representing diverse political, religious, and cultural perspectives—are competing for seats in the Congress, up from 14 groups in the last election.
The 39th World Zionist Congress will be held in Jerusalem from October 28 to 30, 2025, where elected delegates will meet to discuss and make critical decisions that will impact the future of Israel and the global Jewish community.
