Former Mossad Official: "Senior Israeli Official Recruited Lawyers to Represent Qatar Against Bereaved Families"
Dr. Udi Levy Claims: "Qatar’s Influence Extends Far Beyond the Three Officials in the PM's Office"

Dr. Udi Levy, former head of the Economic Unit in the Mossad, revealed on Wednesday in an interview on to Channel 12 that a senior official in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) approached a prominent Israeli lawyer, asking them to represent Qatar in lawsuits filed by Israeli bereaved families.
"Qatar's Influence is Greater Than We Realize"
"There's no way to fully measure the extent of Eli Feldstein's exposure to classified materials," Dr. Levy stated. "We don’t know what he did with the documents, what advice he gave the Qataris, or what he passed on to them. That’s why I used a strong term yesterday—I said these individuals were essentially recruited by Qatar."
The former Mossad official further asserted that, in his opinion, "Qatar’s sphere of influence is far broader than just the three officials in the PM’s office. It extends to many interfaces and areas, some of which we may not even be aware of."
Dr. Levy disclosed that in recent years, several lawsuits have been filed by terror victims against Qatari institutions accused of funneling money through charitable organizations—such as the Islamic Charity Association, which Israel has designated as a terrorist organization. Legal proceedings are currently underway in Israel, the U.S., and London, including a lawsuit by Syrian terror victims accusing Qatar of financing Jabhat al-Nusra.
One lawsuit in Israel involves bereaved families suing Qatar for its alleged financial support of Hamas. According to Dr. Levy, at Qatar’s apparent request, a senior PMO official reached out to a highly influential Israeli lawyer, asking them to represent Qatar in the lawsuit at the Jerusalem District Court.
"It’s important to emphasize," Levy added, "this lawsuit is against an entity that Israel has outlawed, and the plaintiffs are terror victims. We are essentially fighting ourselves in this arena."
Qatari Influence and the PMO’s Response
Dr. Levy’s statements follow previous reports concerning Eli Feldstein, the PM’s military spokesperson, who allegedly received classified military documents while working for an external PR firm. That firm was reportedly tasked with improving Qatar’s image in Israel through official statements and arranging interviews with Qatari officials.
The Prime Minister’s Office issued a response denying the allegations:
"This is complete fake news. No one in the PMO was authorized to offer an Israeli lawyer to represent Qatar in lawsuits filed in Israel."
