The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court convened today (Tuesday) to hear a request by Sara Netanyahu for a restraining order against Haaretz journalist Uri Misgav and protest activist Nava Rozolio.

According to Mrs Netanyahu, the two have been acting in a “threatening harassing” manner with their systematic publications, surveillance of her residence, and the release of information that could endanger her and her family.

In the legal request, Netanyahu claims Misgav and Rozolio are waging a campaign that crosses all acceptable boundaries: “This is obsessive behavior characteristic of harassers and goes beyond the limits of the public’s right to know.”

She also accused Misgav of a “pathological obsession,” citing his detailed reports on her whereabouts in Israel and abroad—posing, she says, a serious risk, particularly given her status as a protected individual.

Mrs Netanyahu asserted that Misgav is not a journalist but “a radical political activist of the most dangerous kind.” Among the examples she cited were the publication of the Prime Minister’s convoy movements, information about her stay in a private home in Jerusalem, and negative comments about her flight to Miami, including questioning, “Who’s paying for the business class ticket?”

Outside the courthouse, as Mrs Netanyahu entered the courtroom, a small demonstration took place, with protesters calling out, “The people of Israel love you.” Before the hearing began, Netanyahu addressed the media regarding her extended stay in Miami, clarifying that she had personally funded her time in the United States: “I paid for it out of my own pocket.”

As for Nava Rozolio, Netanyahu claims she has “explicitly admitted in writing to carrying out illegal surveillance,” and that she manages a WhatsApp group where calls were made, allegedly, to harm Netanyahu and her family.
