IDF announced today (Saturday) that in the past week, battalion exercises involving live-fire and urban warfare training were conducted in the Northern Command. The exercises took place in the built-up areas of the Northern Paratroopers Brigade in the reserves.
According to the IDF Spokesperson's statement, as part of the training plans for reserve battalions on the northern front in recent months, soldiers from the Northern Paratroopers Brigade (226), which is part of the designed "HaMapatz" (146) and combat engineering forces, practiced in densely populated neighborhoods and built-up areas in northern terrain, under winter weather conditions and in a northern sector layout.
Over 100 days of training
In the exercises conducted, the soldiers trained from the squad level to the battalion combat teams, incorporating tanks, infantry soldiers, engineers, and artillery. So far, the National Ground Training Center has conducted over 100 days of training, including more than 40 battalion-level exercises and over 100 platoon-level exercises.
Deputy Commander of the 226th Division, Lieutenant Colonel (Res.), Yehuda, addressed the preparations conducted for a potential conflict with Hezbollah. "Despite the wintry weather, the rain, mud, and fog, and after 113 days of defensive combat on the northern border, we carried out a series of challenging and complex exercises this week to strengthen the division's readiness."
According to him, "The spirit of the commanders and soldiers is resilient, professionalism is at a very high level, and we are ready for any mission that may come our way. After this week, I can say with a whole heart - we are prepared."
