Aviva Siegel, who returned from Hamas captivity after 51 days of being held in Gaza, came this morning (Tuesday) to lobby for the abductees in the Knesset and provided one of the most shocking testimonies heard so far about her time in captivity. According to her, one of the days a young abductee returned from the bathroom upset.
The terrorist who "guarded" them sexually assaulted her, she testified. "I want to tell you about some sections that were very difficult for me because there were millions of them and I could continue talking to you for a week," Aviva began. "One of the girls came back after she went to the bathroom and I saw on her face that she was upset so I got up and tried to hug her but the terrorist prevented me from doing so."
"I told her I loved her, I made her a hand heart sign, but we weren't allowed to hug." According to her, at this point she realized that something had happened: "I see that she closes and is quiet and she is not her. And she told me that the terrorist touched her. It's terrible, it's just terrible. I told her I'm sorry."
In addition, Aviva said that on one occasion the terrorists tortured another young abductee because they thought she was an officer in the IDF. "They tortured her next to me. just next to me. And I am a witness to it. I am a witness to what is happening there. What is happening there is simply a catastrophe. It is impossible to continue.
How many words can people speak in 95 days and nothing happens? You must give us hope, we are losing it. I want to stand here on the table, if I had the courage, and scream for them. For all the hostages out there, but I won't do it because I'm a cultured person. They are not civilized, they are not humane."
Aviva, 62 years old, was kidnapped from Kfar Aza to Gaza with her husband Keith, 64 years old - who is still being held captive by Hamas. "My village was wiped out, half of the residents were kidnapped and half were murdered. Everyone I knew in the last 40 years is gone."
