Israel At War - The Northern Border

The Ceasefire: the IDF does Not Prevent Hezbollah from Rehabilitating Outposts near the Border

Under the auspices of the cease-fire, Hezbollah is rehabilitating the outposts that were hit by IDF fire. Fighters say: "Until Friday, we did not see a Hezbollah terrorist within binocular range. Now they are openly driving in front of us and are not stopping."

As if they didn't learn a lesson from October 7. Under the auspices of the cease-fire in the south, the IDF is allowing Hezbollah terrorists to return to the vicinity of the northern border and is not preventing the move by shooting at a distance.

Let us recall that on the Monday after Shabbat Simchat Torah, Hezbollah launched a war against Israel on the northern border, firing anti-tank missiles, mortar bombs, rockets, drones and small arms towards the entire northern border. 10 Israelis were killed by Hezbollah fire, including 2 civilians and the rest officers and soldiers.

The preferred target of Hezbollah terrorists were the antennas in the outposts on which observation, intelligence, and communication means are installed. Hezbollah is systematically targeting them and the IDF in response fired at the sources of the fire. In preparation for the ceasefire, the IDF raised the bar and began the elimination of key operatives in the Radwan Force - Hezbollah's elite unit. The war in the north is not over - Hezbollah has announced that it will join the Hamas ceasefire, and has indeed stopped firing since Friday.

Hezbollah rebuilds the outposts that were attacked

But now the situation has reversed, with visible Hezbollah operatives walking around near the border, a few hundred meters from the IDF outposts. At this stage, Hezbollah military vehicles are driving between the outposts that were attacked during the fighting days, restoring to service places that were damaged in the war with Israel, including forward outposts hundreds of meters from the border. In the meantime, the IDF maintains ceasefire and refrains from firing to thwart the move.

Fighters stationed on the northern border say that this is lawlessness, which allows Hezbollah to return and maintain the anti-tank positions from which they fired and hit Israeli positions. Until Friday we did not see a Hezbollah terrorist within binocular range. Now they are driving in front of us and rearming the outposts we kidnapped from. It's simply ridiculous that no one in the brigade or division thinks it should be stopped."

The IDF says that the opening fire procedures have not been changed and that any Lebanese who approaches the fence is met with IDF warning shots.
