The Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi referred (Saturday) to the release of the captives from Gaza last night and the second step in the framework of the deal and the continuation of the fighting in Gaza.

At the beginning of his remarks, the Chief of Staff referred to the return of the captives last night. "Yesterday we completed the first group of women and children who returned. Today, in just a few hours, I hope that a second group will arrive, this is a ceasefire that would not have happened in this agreement if it were not for the pressure exerted by the entire IDF. Everyone contributes their part to the war." We do not intend, do not want, are not ready to stop this effort before we have brought back all the captives because each one of them is ours, we have a supreme moral obligation to bring them back."

"We will attack again in Gaza, to create great pressure to return as many captives as possible"

The Chief of Staff also noted the lull from the fighting and emphasized that the army would return to attack in Gaza.

According to Herzi Halevi, "And we will return immediately at the end of the ceasefire to attack Gaza, to manipulate Gaza, we will do this also to dismantle Hamas, also to create very great pressure to return as quickly as possible and as many hostages as possible, every last one of them, and dismantle Hamas. There is an obligation to fight and also to risk our lives so that they can return and live there safely, and we have captives that we will do everything to bring them home.'
