Due to the march of the families of the abductees that is taking place these days, and is expected to continue this weekend on road number 1 towards Jerusalem, changes are expected in the traffic arrangements on road number 1 in the section of the road between Latrun and the entrance to Jerusalem.

In coordination between the Israel Police and the organizers of the march, it was determined that the marchers will march on part of the lanes on Highway 1 heading east from the area of the Latrun junction to the entrance to Jerusalem - starting today, Friday - 11/17, and tomorrow - Saturday 11/18, during daytime hours. Also on Saturday, towards the evening hours, changes are expected for a short period in the routes within Jerusalem in the area of the entrance to the city / Chords Bridge.

Due to these changes, traffic congestion is expected for travelers to Jerusalem before Shabbat begins, and the police advise the public to prepare accordingly and use alternative routes if necessary.

The police stated: "The driving public wishing to reach the Jerusalem area before Shabbat begins on Route 1, is requested to advance their journey to the city, or travel on Route 443, this is due to the expected traffic congestion in the area."

It was also reported that "the Israel Police hugs the families of the abductees, wishes and prays together with all the people of Israel for the return of the abductees home to the State of Israel safe and quickly. The Israel Police is working and will work to secure the marchers so that they reach their destination safely."
