Negotiations for a Ceasefire? Qatar Pursues a Hostage Deal
Qatar is exerting heavy pressure to pursue a deal for 50 women and children from Hamas captives in exchange for a three-day respite from the fighting. Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed yesterday that "if and when there is something concrete to report on, we will do so".

Qatar exerts pressure to bring about the release of hostages in exchange for a ceasefire for three days. As part of the deal, about 50 women and children held by Hamas will be released, the Reuters agency network reported (Wednesday).
Yesterday Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to the talks surrounding deals for the release of hostages. "Our hearts are always with the abductees and their families. Since the beginning of the war, we have been working continuously to free our abductees, including exerting increasing pressure since the beginning of the ground maneuver. If and when there is something concrete to report on - we will do it."
Biden: "I believe it's going to happen"
Netanyahu's words come against the backdrop of US President Joe Biden's statement, during which he referred to reports of a possible deal to release the hostages held in the Gaza Strip, saying that he "believes it's going to happen." However, Biden did not address the details of the possible deal, and what would be provided in exchange for their release.
"I talk every day with everyone involved in the negotiations. I believe it's going to happen, but I don't want to go into details," Biden said after being asked if he had a message for the families of the abductees in Israel. "I turn to the families and say - hold on, we are coming."
