A serious indictment was filed against Nashat Hajj Yahya, a 20-year-old Tayibe resident who worked as an assistant at a day care center in Hod Hasharon, on the charges of incitement to terrorism and identification with a terror organization. The prosecution said that the indictment was approved by the Attorney General and State Attorney, with the aim being her imprisonment until the end of legal proceedings.

According to the charge, filed by Adv. Roey Rice, Hajj Yahya published a number of stories on her Instagram account, which has 9,200 followers, containing praise, admiration, or encouragement of terror attacks, as well as support for or identification with such attacks.

All this was done on the morning of the beginning of the Swords of Iron war, when the state awoke to the cruelest murders and massacres it has known, and was subject to a murderous terror offensive in the settlements and kibbutzim on the Gaza Perimeter. The indictment reads that the circumstances in which the accused published her statements could lead to the real possibility of a terror attack.

“You think I care about you?”

As part of her publications the accused wrote, among other things, that “there is nothing more beautiful than to wake up to news of the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Perimeter and the fear of the Zionists and the rockets falling on their heads. God, grant your servants a victory in Gaza and Palestine and anyone who lifted your flag, and be an aid to them against the enemies of the religion.”

Later that day, she wrote: “Military brothers invaded the country, very generous (ambulance emojis), take note.” Hajj Yahya worked as an assistant at the Hod Yalduti child care center at Ramat Hasharon. Even when some parents of the children there and even people within the center itself condemned and complained about her posts, she continued to stand defiantly behind them and even bolster them: “Lots of people are pressure but I don’t care about them … (laughing emoji).”

And also: “Lots of people have started to do translations of articles I shared, hahaha, do you think I care? Ooooooooh, shame for every article you posted, seriously, a hair on my head doesn’t move from you, bring up more and more, I have a spine and thanks for being so pressured from me, to the contrary, it will be even more.”

The rapid interrogation of the accused and her indictment are a consequence of the State Attorney’s instruction to investigate, arrest, and indict anyone who publishes praise and support for the horrors, even if it’s a single publication, on the assumption it’s a serious case, related directly to recent events. The prosecution will act with full force against anyone who expresses praise, admiration, or encouragement of terror attacks, or identification with terror organizations.
