For a week and a half, the Dan and Kalderon families clung to the hope that Noyah Dan, a 13 year old girl with autism from kibbutz Kissufim, and her 80 year old grandmother Carmela, a resident of Nir Oz, survived the murderous attack by Hamas and were kidnapped into Gaza. Yesterday, the family received the news that their bodies had been identified.

Since the Simchat Torah Massacre, the family reported that 13-year old Noyah had low-functioning autism, and was abducted into Gaza. They added that any noise or unsafe environment makes her feel fear and have involuntary impulses. The family, who did not yet know of the full disaster that befell them, thought that she had been kidnapped along with her grandmother, and were worried about how she’d survive there.

Thousands shared their many posts, showing the world the inconceivable cruelty of Hamas, until they received the worst possible news yesterday (Wednesday) that Noyah’s body was identified along with that of her grandmother Carmela.

The Horrors of Re’im Continue to be Discovered

Yesterday, the bodies of Arik Peretz and his 16-year old daughter Ruth were identified, after 12 days of being defined as missing. The Police announced that 80% of civilians murdered in the war and sent for identification had been identified. Yesterday, Arik and Ruth were among those 732 identified – a father and a young girl dealing with muscular dystrophy and mental disability.

The father took his daughter to have fun at the party in Re’im, and the two were murdered by Hamas terrorists. 16-year old Ruth moved around in a wheelchair. Her relatives told of how much she loved to spend time with her father, who would spend quality time with her. They did the same at the party from which they did not return. There are many pictures going around the internet showing the two at many parties with father Arik dancing around his wheelchair-bound daughter.

A day after the terrible disaster at Re’im, Arik’s car was found, riddled with Hamas bullets, along with Ruth’s wheelchair. Their family was sure that they were kidnapped to Gaza, until they received the painful news last night that they were found lifeless.
