The war in the south continues.
The Israel Police continues its efforts to identify the victims of the massacre at the start of the war, as part of activity conducted jointly with the IDF and ZAKA volunteers at the body concentration station.
According to a Police statement, so far 732 bodies have been identified at the camp as of this morning, or more than 80% of the civilians (not soldiers) murdered in the massacre whose bodies were sent to be identified. The statement also said 607 civilians have been buried so far.
The body concentration station was set up hours after the war broke out, with hundreds of the dead murdered in the attack sent for identification. Thousands of police officers have been working round the clock in shifts and taking part in the difficult work of identification, using advanced technological means to ensure full identification. Once the identification process is complete, the information is sent to teams providing the bitter news to families that their loved one has been declared dead and helping them take the next steps to bringing them to be buried.
