War continues in Israel.

Today (Wednesday), after ongoing fire by the Hezbollah terrorist organization into Israel form Lebanon, the government approved the expansion of the settlement evacuation zone from 2 to 5 kilometers from the border fence. The decision was approved by phone vote and in accordance with the Defense Minister’s guidance.

The Defense Ministry stated that the government decision authorizes the Defense Minister and the IDF to gradually evacuate settlements within 2-5 km of the border with Lebanon, depending on the circumstances. It should be stressed that the approval of the proposal does not mean the immediate evacuation of settlements within this range.

At the beginning of the week, the National Emergency Authority at the Defense Ministry announced together with the IDF that they would be implementing the plan to evacuate northern residents living up to 2 kilometers from the Lebanese border. The evacuation would direct residents to guest houses at government expense.
