MK Amit Halevi from Likud criticizes President Biden who is visiting Israel and claims that he is mistaken.
"The declaration today that 'we need to remember that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people'," wrote Halevi, "well, no. This is a major mistake that endangers the security and future of Israel."
"In the Gaza Strip, there are close to 2 million residents. Eighty percent of them have been educated on the principles of Hamas and the destruction of Israel ever since Hamas violently took control of the Gaza Strip. It was the adults who chose Hamas in free elections in 2006, in which it emerged victorious. Therefore, in complete contradiction to your words, there are now around 2 million Hamas supporters in the Gaza Strip, whose minds are filled with mad religious hatred towards Jews and Israel."
Halevi continued, "This is the reason, Mr. President, why many citizens participated in the terrible massacre and even expressed sadistic enjoyment openly from acts of rape, beheadings, and burning of infants. This is also why their supporters within the Palestinian Authority and across the world justify these Hamas actions. And why is your mistake so critical? Because if you've come here to release a few captives, express our friendship, and yet ensure that, at the end of the war, Israel won't control the Gaza Strip, and life there will return to normal, then - Don't do it!"
