National Security Council Director Tzachi Hanegbi held a press conference at the Kiryah in Tel Aviv, emphasizing the international relations campaign over the war.

Hanegbi rejected the statement that the embrace President Biden was giving the State of Israel was a “bear hug” explaining the intensity of American support and how that support did not clash with the goals of the war.

The NSC Chief explained the significance of American economic aid and the support of its military backing to control of the northern sector, whether it was military aid in the form of ammunition and weapons or military assistance in the form of aircraft carriers arriving in the Middle East. Hanegbi also explained the presence of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the war cabinet meeting, and how Biden’s visit to Israel during wartime was the first of its kind. Furthermore, Hanegbi added that American involvement was deep and that if the campaign expanded – so would American involvement.

Hanegbi answered questions afterwards. The first question regarded the clip of the captive released by Hamas and possible talks to release the hostages. Hanegbi explained that they were presently working on getting a full picture of the situation, some of which was still shrouded in the “fog of war,” though he did emphasize that the issue of the captives was of highest importance and would not be given up.
