American President Joe Biden will visit Israel tomorrow (Wednesday) as fighting rages in the south. White House Spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre noted that Biden was visiting the country to “to demonstrate his steadfast support for Israel in the face of Hamas’s brutal terrorist attack and to consult on next steps.”
Biden’s visit will last 5 hours, with his plane expected to land at 10:00 in the morning. During the visit, the American President will meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, President Yitzhak Herzog, and representatives of families of the captives.
At 15:00, Biden will move on from Israel to Jordan, where he will meet with King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abd el-Fatah a-Sisi and Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen. The White House noted that Biden will “reiterate that Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination and discuss the humanitarian needs of civilians in Gaza.”
