Following the IDF spokesman's statement that shipments of ceramic vests and ceramic shielding plates that were brought to Israel as a donation were found to be defective and life-endangering, the shortage of the equipment has been completed.
This morning (Tuesday) the IDF spokesman said that an Air Force plane landed in Israel and brought to the country a shipment of thousands of ceramic shielding plates.
The spokesman also adds that the protective equipment was brought to Israel in a joint flight operation by the Ministry of Defense and the IDF.
The Ministry of Defense and the IDF call on citizens and donors not to transfer personal protective equipment and military equipment that have not undergone certified shooting tests and standard and suitability tests, which could endanger lives.
The spokesman also clarified that "the security forces, the IDF, and the Association for the Soldier continue to work around the clock to handle requests from parties who wish to donate personal equipment in large quantities to the IDF and check every donation."
