An investigation of the Hamas infiltration of the Gaza Division base at kibbutz Re’im revealed the bravery and resourcefulness of a Bedouin scout officer, whose brilliant deceptive tactic prevented the taking of the base by the terrorists.

According to a report by Walla! News, during the fighting against the terrorists infiltrating the base, the fear emerged that they might reach the rooms containing the families of officers hosted on the base for the holiday.

During the fighting, Scouts Officer Lt.-Col. M. conducted a diversionary tactic for dozens of terrorists seeking to penetrate the camp.

According to the report, one of the young scouts took off his uniform and was in a white shirt, after which he called to the terrorists in Arabic: “Come, come to me.”

During the exchange of fire, he succeeded in convincing them to come closer to him and thus leave their hiding place. The deception succeeded, making the terrorists think he was one of them and move towards the scout.

It was then that Lt.-Col. M. sniped at them from close range and killed them. Officer conducting the inquiry praised Lt.-Col. M., saying: “His action saved the lives of many.”
