The Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety, through the Israel Routes Company and in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, began today (Monday) to clear the vehicles left abandoned on the roads of the south after the murderous terrorist attack carried out by Hamas last week.
"Dozens of dedicated trucks were mobilized for the mission of clearing the abandoned vehicles and restoring the southern roads to their pre-war condition. The roads in the Gaza strip envelope are crowded with vehicles that were left behind during the course of the severe terror attack, many of them shot or burnt, bearing witness to the events of those days."
Israel Routes Company is preparing to evacuate those vehicles at several sites set up on the Gaza envelope roads. After the approval of the Israel Police, the company will begin removing the vehicles, using dozens of suitable vehicles, in several rounds a day. The evacuation is carried out through the operation and maintenance division, a division that is trusted to maintain the country's roads, even during times of war.
Erez Siksik, Deputy CEO of the Israel Routes Company, stated, "Our goal is to ensure continuous travel on the roads for IDF vehicles, security forces, rescue, and emergency vehicles during times of emergency. The company is mobilizing for one purpose – the clearance of thousands of vehicles that remain in the area despite the difficult circumstances. We act with utmost sensitivity and a sense of sacred duty to clear the numerous vehicles in the area. We are all moved by the mobilization of the division's personnel and the contracting teams for this important mission of vehicle clearance."
