An officer was killed by Hezbollah anti-tank fire

Yesterday (Sunday), an IDF officer was killed by a missile strike from Lebanon towards Israel, near the Nurit outpost. Several soldiers of different ranks were also injured in the incident. The deceased was Lieutenant Amitai Granot, 24 years old, from Tel Aviv, and served as a team leader in the 75th Battalion, Sa'ar Brigade, from Golan Heights. He was the son of Rabbi Tamir Granot, the head of the 'Orot Shaul' Yeshiva in southern Tel Aviv.

This is the seventh fatality in the clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah on the northern border since the fighting began last week, and the second fatality today from missile fire. Four officers and soldiers were killed in the clashes at the beginning of the week, and another soldier was killed by a missile strike in the area of Aramsha. A naval combatant died yesterday in an operational accident during a patrol opposite the coast of Lebanon. This morning, a civilian was killed by a missile strike on construction workers in Shtula.

In the past day, Hezbollah fired 5 anti-tank missiles towards the Israeli border. This morning, militants fired a missile at construction workers in Shetula, and about an hour later, Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile at an Israeli tank patrolling the northern border. Later on, Hezbollah also fired towards the Ramim ridge and an Israeli post in the area. The fifth missile incident occurred in the Hanita area.
