A Quiet Night from the Gaza Strip: No Rocket Fire and No Incidents

Nine days into the fighting, the IDF is noting a weakening in Hamas's firepower and its control over the areas in the Gaza periphery. They are now transitioning to the phase of attack: "The destruction of the Hamas terrorist organization."

On the ninth day of the war in the south, the IDF notes the fact that since yesterday evening, there has been no rocket fire, and since the afternoon, there have been no encounters with terrorists within Israeli territory. These are seen as signs of control over the areas the terrorists had entered and a weakening in Hamas's firepower to fire towards Israel.

"We continue to prepare and confront the goal we have set for ourselves - the destruction of the Hamas terrorist organization, its infrastructure, and the elimination of its leadership," says the IDF this morning.

While attacking Hamas targets and eliminating its militants, attacks are also carried out against the second organization in its strength - the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). The call for the people of Gaza to move south for shelter continues, with Hamas trying to limit their movement as much as possible in order to use the population as human shields.

In the Syrian and Lebanese sectors, there is once again no calm. This morning at 6:43, a suspicious target was detected over Sde Eliezer, and a missile launcher was activated to intercept what was likely an unmanned aerial vehicle. Additionally, several launches were identified from Syrian territory last night, and in response, sources of the fire were targeted within Syrian territory.

In the Gaza envelope region, there are no changes. Security forces continue to thwart alerts for attacks and arrest terror operatives. In the past week, hundreds have been apprehended.

On the global front, the IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, held discussions with the commander of the United States Central Command, the Chief of the Hellenic Army, and other generals around the world to stay updated on the war efforts. The Americans are sending a second aircraft carrier to the region to provide assistance. Cargo planes with advanced weaponry are also on their way from the US military.

So far, 286 familes of fallen IDF soldiers have been notified and 126 families of missing and captured individuals have been updated as well.
