The Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, strongly criticized today (Saturday) the UN envoy to the Middle East, Tor Wennesland, after he met with Iran's Foreign Minister in Lebanon today and did not condemn Iran's involvement in Hamas's terrorist attacks.
In response to the UN envoy's meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister, a meeting that took place without any condemnation from Tor Wennesland, Erdan said, "Wash your hands of our children's blood!" He also announced that he will sever ties with Wennesland, stating, "I will not engage with him or meet with him until he publicly condemns the Iranian regime of murder and terrorism."
"We will not accept the legitimacy that the UN grants to the Nazi regime of Iran"
The ambassador continued his attack on Wennesland: "The UN envoy met, during a war full of blood, with someone who funded the slaughter of our children and doesn't say a word! No condemnation! I call on Tor to wash his hands after shaking hands with the Iranian regime, through which the blood of the infants, women, and families murdered by Hamas was shed."
According to Erdan, "The rules have changed! We will no longer accept the legitimacy that the UN grants to the Nazi regime of Iran, which openly calls for the destruction of Israel. Until the UN envoy to the Middle East does not strongly condemn the Ayatollah regime in Iran, I officially announce the severance of all ties with him."
