MKs from the Yesh Atid Knesset faction applied pressure today (Wednesday) on opposition chairman Yair Lapid to join the emergency government, according to a report by Michael Shemesh at Kann 11. According to the report, the MKs believe that in a time like this, a party like Yesh Atid has a national responsibility to be around the government table.
It was also reported that some of the MKs went out into the ground, heard the demand, and are trying to pass it on to Lapid and other MKs. Yesh Atid will hold a meeting closed to the press today at 21:00.
As reported earlier today, five days after fighting started in the south, there is now an agreement to form a national emergency government. The agreement includes the formation of a war cabinet including the Prime Minister, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Benny Gantz. Eizenkot and Dermer will serve in an observer role.
Tomorrow at 19:00 a special meeting will be held to swear in the emergency government. Even before the swearing in, members of the State Camp party participated in the cabinet meeting.
