Social media uproar: Turkish Deputy Education Minister, Nazif Yılmaz, responded last night (Tuesday) to a post by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Twitter in which he presented the IDF's attacks in the Gaza Strip. In his response, the minister wrote to Netanyahu that "one day they will also fire at you, and you will die in suffering."
The tweet was posted at 23:42 according to Israel's time, and as of 13 hours later, it has not been deleted from the platform. Yılmaz's remarks have received hundreds of comments, approximately 9,500 likes, and over 1,500 retweets. More than 500,000 people have been exposed to the incendiary post. In Netanyahu's original tweet, he wrote, "We continue with full force," along with a video showing the attacks in Gaza as part of Operation "Iron Swords."
As a reminder, earlier this week, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, emphasizing his efforts to restore stability in the region and strive for peace in the region. In response, Herzog thanked the President of Turkey for his condolences and stressed that the State of Israel will protect its citizens and do everything possible to return the captives held in the Gaza Strip.
