"We have put Major General Lior Carmeli in charge of the issue. Hundreds of people are being recruited. We have updated the families, gathered DNA to confirm who is missing and who is captured. We will update the public only after we update the families."

He also addressed claims of shortages in the army: "300,000 reservists in 48 hours. The citizens of Israel at their best are presenting in the IDF. There is equipment in the IDF. There are places and units which reached 150% and 200%. We'll release some of the forces, we don't lack for equipment and we don't lack food, it's all coming."
