The efforts to form an emergency national unity government continue.
This morning (Monday), representatives of the State Camp and Likud parties met to discuss forming an emergency unity government until the end of the war.
At the meeting, the State Camp party made its proposal, with the main points being: forming a limited war cabinet, in which State Camp members will have influential representation regarding the conduct of the war, and which will include the relevant ministers on behalf of the Prime Minister.
Furthermore, in the event additional opposition parties join, the war cabinet will be expanded appropriately. They also demanded that the main war authorities be delegated to this body. Also, during the unity government period, no Knesset legislation unrelated to the war will be passed.
The State Camp party stressed that they are not demanding executive ministers, only ministerial positions without portfolio, solely for the duration of the war.
At the meeting, the message was delivered that State Camp members and Gantz personally would give full backing to the government and the defense establishment in managing the campaign, and would help wherever needed, inside the government or out.
