Three Border Police combatants were seriously injured during an operational activity today (Thursday) in TulKarm, and two others were injured with light and moderate injuries.
As part of the activity in the refugee camp in the city of TulKarm, the soldiers carried out an arrest of a suspect. During the operation, there were exchanges of fire, and terrorists threw explosive devices at the security forces who responded with gunfire, resulting in several injuries to the terrorists.
The IDF and the police reported that during the withdrawal of the forces from the operation, five Border Police combatants were injured by grenade attacks, with three in serious condition and two in light to moderate condition. The soldiers were evacuated to hospitals, and their families have been informed of their condition.
The commander of the Border Guard, Nitzav Brik Yitzhak, said, "Our fighters acted this morning with determination and courage to combat terrorism in Judea and Samaria. I wish a speedy recovery and complete healing to the Border Police combatants who were injured in the fighting. We will continue to work together with the security agencies to combat terrorism and protect the citizens of Israel. Every terrorist must know that if they try to harm our forces, we will reach them and settle the score with them."
Dr. Alon Nevet, Deputy Director of Bilinson Hospital, reported on the condition of the injured: "Two injured individuals from the incident in TulKarm arrived at the trauma room in the hospital. One of them is in stable condition, while the second injured person is in serious condition and is currently in the operating room. Further updates will be provided later."
