Against the background of the evidence of illicit connections between female prison guards and security prisoners, the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that he will bring to the next cabinet meeting a decision to establish a government inspection committee chaired by a judge that will examine the conduct of the prison service organization and the policy of using compulsory female prison guards in the security wings and that will deal with both the prison pimping affair and the affair which is now exposed and which is under investigation by the prison service.

According to his office, this is another step that joins the steps that Minister Ben-Gvir led from the beginning of his term to remove all mandatory female prison guards from the security divisions after 20 years in which conscript soldiers serve in the prison service - a process that has already begun and as part of which hundreds of female prison guards have already been removed from the security divisions, and was supposed to end in the middle of 2024. Now, following the directive of the Minister and the Commissioner that was made last Friday, the prison service is preparing to remove all the mandatory female prisoners from the security wings - within a week to 10 days.
