Iranian media reported today (Thursday) that a significant explosion occurred at a facility in Tehran belonging to the Iranian Ministry of Security. At this stage, it is not clear what caused the explosion, and the circumstances of the event are being investigated.
This is the third case of an explosion occurring in Iran in the past week, with previous explosions also reported in close proximity to security-related sites. Just two days ago, a significant explosion was reported in the city of Khurramabad in western Iran, near a missile facility belonging to the Revolutionary Guards.
According to reports and documentation circulated on Arab networks, residents living in the area rushed out in panic to witness a massive smoke plume caused by the explosion. Initially, the Iranian government claimed it was an earthquake and denied that an explosion had occurred. However, authorities later admitted that there were no reports of an earthquake in the area at the time of the incident.
