The Supreme Court is convening today (Thursday) to hear an expanded composition of the petitions against the "Incapacity Law", which concerns the procedures for removing a prime minister for incapacitation, due to physical or mental incapacity only, thereby preventing a situation of incapacitation on legal grounds.

This is the second time in about two weeks that the judges of the High Court will discuss an amendment to the Basic Law, where any disqualification or rejection of it will set a significant legal precedent, and may lead to a constitutional crisis with the government and the Knesset.

Live broadcast from the Supreme Court:

Levin: "This is not democracy"

Even before the start of the hearing, Justice Minister Levin harshly bashed the judicial system's handling of the issue: "The hearing that is taking place today in court is practically a hearing on the annulment of the election results. No other washed-up name will hide this simple truth."
