At the end of an intelligence and investigative effort, the IDF and the Shin Bet announced that they have arrested at Bir Zeit University north of Ramallah eight wanted persons who were planning to carry out an attack in the immediate time frame

Tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) in a joint operation by the IDF and the Shin Bet, the forces entered Bir Zeit University, where eight wanted persons were arrested, who were hiding there, and according to the information available in the possession of the security forces, were prepared to carry out attacks in the immediate time frame. Another wanted person was arrested in the area of the village.
During the operation, the forces located incendiary materials, including Hamas flags, and technological means.

Forces of the IDF and the Shin Bet conducted an intelligence and investigative effort in recent months, in order to thwart the activities of terrorist squads made up of students in the Hamas cells, "Hakatlah Islamiya", which operate in universities in the IOS.
During the activity, a number of terrorist squads operating at Bir Zeit University were arrested for questioning. The Shin Bet's investigation revealed that those operatives were recruited by Hamas operatives from the Gaza Strip and received weapons and ammunition to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli targets.
In addition, the forces arrested four other wanted persons in the village of Khirbat Karme. The wanted persons who were arrested and the confiscated means were transferred to continue the Shin Bet investigation, there are no casualties to our forces.
