The Authority for the Protection of Privacy in the Ministry of Justice issues a warning that in light of the publications of the National Cyber Organization regarding an active attack campaign, which focuses on job seekers in Israel, the Authority examined the incident, and as part of this examination it emerged that Iranian attackers published personal information of job candidates on job search websites.
The publications exposed include photo IDs, resume files and other information. The authority is examining the issue with the relevant authorities in order to ensure the removal of the leak and its spread.
The Authority emphasizes to the public of applicants who register on job search websites, that they must exercise caution when it comes to receiving messages from parties they do not know and even immediately change the password to these websites with a new and strong password. It is important to be highly alert for attempts at further attacks through phishing in text messages (WhatsApp, SMS, etc.) and e-mail.
Be careful and completely avoid clicking on links attached to suspicious messages, or those whose sender identity is unknown. As a precaution, it is always recommended to enter the required service by typing the URL yourself and not by using a link.
