An unusual event: Hackers broke into the Twitter ("X") account of Donald Trump Jr., the son of the former US president - this was reported today (Wednesday) in the American media. After the hack, the attackers began to publish a series of strange tweets - including a tweet announcing the death of Trump Sr.
"Im sad to announce that my father Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024," read the tweet, which immediately raised questions among the millions of Trump Jr.'s followers. Trump's office confirmed that the former president is still alive, and clarified that his son's account was hacked and the tweets were not written by him.
In the minutes that followed, more puzzling tweets were published, including attacks against President Joe Biden, a claim that "North Korea is going to turn into smoke", and tweets that referred to correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein and network star Logan Paul. Another tweet attacked Twitter CEO Elon Musk, in which Trump Jr. allegedly wrote that "my father controls you."
About half an hour after the message that allegedly heralded his death, Trump Sr. confirmed that he was alive when he published his own message on his personal social network "Truth Social" - but refrained from referring to the event on Twitter. At this stage it is not known who is behind the hacking of Trump Jr.'s page.
