Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during his meeting with Elon Musk, referred to the legal reform and in a particularly surprising statement, said that the initial proposal made by Justice Minister Yariv Levin was 'extreme'.
Netanyahu explained: "They started with an extreme proposal that I did not accept of a simple majority veto on every decision of the court. We are trying to reach a consensus, and if we do not reach a consensus, and there is a lot of power from Big Money and Big Media to organize demonstrations anywhere in the world, I will do it with the support of the public."
He further added and expanded: "There was a plan that would have shifted the pendulum from one side - power in the hands of the court, to the other side - the parliament. I stopped it, I want a balance. I don't want a system where the parliament can override with a simple majority. We are trying to reach agreements, "to work On both sides of the barricade." If we succeed against the opposition - that's good. If not - we will go to the public. This is what I intend to do upon my return to Israel."
