The Shin Bet revealed this evening that the person who distributed the photo of Central Command General Yehuda Fox in a Nazi uniform is an account operated by Iranians.
"From tests carried out by the Shin Bet about the profile through which the photo of General Yehuda Fox, the commander of the Central Command in Nazi uniform, was published today, it is estimated with high probability that this is a fictitious profile operated by Iranian elements.
It should be noted that for some time Iran has been promoting a comprehensive network campaign, the goal of which is to divide Israeli society and destabilize it, and it is estimated that the publication of the photo today is part of this campaign," the Shin Bet statement said.
The Shin Bet has already exposed several times Iranian networks designed to create division in Israeli society.
At noon, the main news sites in Israel, which have hundreds of thousands of followers, published the photoshopped photos of Yehuda Fox with a Hitler mustache and Nazi uniform, which was tweeted by an anonymous account with less than 300 followers. The left has already started a chorus of condemnations against the right. For example, MK Ron Katz from Yesh Atid: "Netanyahu, before you preach morality to us, I recommend doing a home inspection."
