Fear of pollution: Swimming warning at a beach in the north
The Haifa Municipality has issued a swimming warning at Neot Beach in Kiryat Haim due to concerns of pollution in the water from the industrial area's water pipeline. Municipality teams are working to stop the flow into the sea, and additional testing will be conducted tomorrow

The Haifa Municipality announced today (Sunday) a swimming warning at Neot Beach in Kiryat Haim due to concerns of pollution in the water from the industrial area's water pipeline. The decision was made following consultation with the Ministry of Health.
According to the municipality's announcement, "Due to concerns of water pollution from the industrial area's water pipeline, it was decided, in consultation with the Ministry of Health, to take extra precautions, prohibit swimming at Neot Beach, and raise black flags at the beach. Meanwhile, municipal teams are working to stop the flow to the sea." It was also mentioned that tomorrow, a seawater test will be conducted, and public guidance will be provided based on the results.
Last week, a swimming warning was reported at Zikim Beach in Ashkelon following the collapse of a sewage station in the Gaza Strip area. Additional swimming warnings were also reported at the northern Herzl Beach in Netanya and at Sela Beach in Bat Yam after high concentrations of abnormal bacterial levels were detected in the seawater.
