Following an investigation in which a suspect who concealed a firearm in his clothing in Neve Ya'akov was apprehended, charges will be filed against him in the coming days.
At the end of August, in the late hours of the night, during a planned operation by the detectives of the Central Unit in the Jerusalem District, a vehicle was stopped, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of possessing combat equipment. A loaded firearm of the F.N type was found concealed underneath the suspect's pants during a search of his person. In a subsequent search conducted by the detectives in the vehicle belonging to his mother, who was also in the car, additional offensive weapons were discovered.
The suspect who was arrested (age 24, resident of Neve Yaakov) was taken for questioning to the Central Unit in the Jerusalem District. The detention of the suspect has been extended from time to time in court. Following the conclusion of the police investigation, a demand statement was filed against the suspect, and his detention was further extended. In the coming days, the prosecution is expected to file an indictment against him.
From the Israel Police, it was reported: "The Central Unit of the Jerusalem District completed the investigation of a suspect who was found in possession of a concealed firearm under his pants. The Israel Police will continue to combat firearm offenses and work towards the exposure, neutralization, and arrest of individuals involved in serious crimes."
