About a week after the approval of the dedicated budget in the finance committee, the court issued a short time ago, a temporary order forbidding the government to distribute the food stamps of the Ministry of the Interior. This is a venture of Shas chairman, Aryeh Deri, for a total of NIS 400 million for food stamps to ensure nutritional security.

The eligibility to receive the vouchers should be given to recipients of a 70% discount on property taxes, income guarantee recipients and those who have proven that their income is low in relation to the number of people in the household.

Now, as mentioned, the High Court has ordered the project to be stopped, which will likely prevent hundreds of thousands of families from receiving the vouchers for the holiday that will begin at the end of next week.

Attorney Dr. Eliad Shraga, the chairman of the Movement for the Quality of Government, who submitted the petition, said: "Just before the holiday, we managed to prevent the deprivation of the Holocaust survivors. We will be on guard so that the entitlement to food stamps is not in accordance with the moral principles of Aryeh Deri."
