Against the background of the reports of deterioration on the northern border, and the fear of escalation, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, today (Wednesday) visited the reserve formation "Hamapatz" (146) in the north and reviewed the division's readiness for war and the state of the emergency warehouses in the north in relation to various emergency scenarios.
During the visit, which was held with the participation of the commander of the Northern Command, Major General Uri Gordin, and the commander of the "Hamapatz" formation, Lieutenant Colonel Kobi Heller, the commanders reviewed the efforts to promote the division's emergency preparedness, the efficiency of the emergency warehouses and the protection of the bunkers and vital assets.

In the past year, the emergency warehouses were provided with advanced operating equipment, the work spaces were renovated, incentives were granted to the permanent personnel working in the units, and the security of the bunkers underwent a significant improvement. At the end of the visit, the Chief of Staff held a command dialogue with about 20 generals and senior commanders in the reserves, and emphasized to them the importance of maintaining the cohesion and competence of the IDF for readiness for escalation scenarios in this security period.
